Data Not Collected
CopyJar is a native macOS application by Bored Jar, S.L. (boredjar.com). This policy is short because the facts are: the app collects no data from you.
What data we collect
None.
- There are no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no trackers.
- There are no user accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
- We do not embed any third-party SDKs, libraries, or services that collect data.
- We do not receive, transmit, sell, or share information with anyone - because we never have any.
Where your data lives
Everything CopyJar keeps - clipboard history, search indexes, on-device AI summaries, OCR text - is stored locally in a SQLite database inside the app's sandbox on your Mac. It never leaves your machine.
AI and OCR run on-device. Password managers are always excluded from capture.
App settings are stored locally on your Mac using the system's standard mechanism (UserDefaults). They never leave your machine.
Network
By default the app opens no network connections. The only exception is media preview, which is opt-in and off by default: when you enable it and ask to preview a media item, the app downloads that one resource in an ephemeral session - no cookies, a 10-second timeout, and a 25 MB cap. Turn the feature off and the app makes no connections at all.
Purchases
The app is purchased through Apple's Mac App Store. CopyJar receives no personal or payment data related to your purchase; that process is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages. Since no data is collected at all, no data is collected from children either.
Your rights
Regulations such as the GDPR grant rights over personal data that a controller processes. CopyJar processes no personal data on our side, so there is nothing held by us to access, correct, or delete. Your clipboard history stays on your Mac; you can clear it from the app. If you have any questions regardless, please get in touch.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes (for example, if a future version added functionality that required it), we will publish the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
